    Our team

    Wouter Catered chalet

    Wouter Berendsen, owner

Chalet Beyond is still a big part of Wouters life. “Of course, my family is the most important thing for me. Besides that, a day without thinking about the mountains is a day not fully lived.”

Every day I’m looking for new opportunities to improve our product. I started Chalet Beyond in 2005 and as being the owner of the company, I’m busy with all sorts of things, like creating new programs, talk with our guests about their reservation or managing my staf. “I love being outside and you can often find me on my bike or skiing on a beautiful mountain slope.”

    The past…

During my childhood I mainly played hockey. During my study I decided that I needed a bit more adventure and started to specialize in outdoor sports, like rock climbing, canyoning and of course skiing. In the beginning skiing was just a passion, but it turned into my profession. Besides skiing, cycling is also a really big passion for me. I cycled a lot of big races like the Marmotte and enjoyed every minute of it” ,

    Why?

“For me, it is important to share my passion for sports with other people. I really like to work with other people as a team and give the customer what they ask for. I hope I can give them an unforgettable holiday which they will remember. So please, if you got any ideas, improvements and feedback, let me know.”

I love organising! And I also love (tour) skiing, snowboarding and cycling. I’ve been so lucky to visit many ski areas in Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy. And soon even Marocco!

Participating in a charity cycle tour (Tour du ALS) was the start of a new hobby. I prefer to cycle in the mountains, but since the Netherlands is flat I also do some mountainbiking in the winter.

My passion for wintersports, cycling and organising come together nicely in my work at Chalet Beyond.

Ever since I was little, doing sports has always been important in my family. When we were not on holiday hiking in the French Alps or snowboarding, my parents would always cycling. After a long time of saying ‘no’ to a race bicycle, I finally  said ‘yes’ and rode my ever first col in Briançon. A year or two later I found out what the fun was in cycling those mountains. This year I rode the Passo dello Stelvio for the 6th time during the event ‘Stelvio for Life’.

After getting my Bachelor’s Degree in Facility Management, I was looking for a way to combine my study with my two favourite things (snowboarding and cycling). I found happiness in working as a chalet host in Austria, Italy and France. However, after 8 months of always having a different home, I felt like slowing down for a bit. I was already working for Chalet Beyond at the time being, so working at the office for this amazing company was a great opportunity.
